A primary motivation behind our research is the desire to make the most of every donor's gift. Once an organ has been determined to be non-transplantable, OPOs can refer the organ to our lab, where we may have immediate need for it in an innovative research protocol.

In 2005, nearly 3,000 organs were recovered in the United States that were not transplanted into patients. Organ Recovery Systems has the potential to change this statistic and bring comfort to families that donated the organs of a loved one with the hope that their gift would change lives.
