Pete, Preservation Technician II

In April 2024, I joined Organ Recovery Systems as Preservation Technician II at the ORS LifePort Preservation Center in Philadelphia. My role involves placing donor kidneys on LifePort Kidney Transporters (LKT) and monitoring their status until they arrive at the transplant center.

Before I joined ORS, I worked as a donor services technician at Infinite Legacy Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) in Baltimore, Maryland, for 19 years. While at the OPO, I met ORS team members and jumped at the opportunity to work here. It’s very humbling to take care of each donor kidney and see LKT’s positive impact on transplant recipients. Outside of work, I like to keep as busy as possible, which includes being a volunteer firefighter, paramedic, and chief of an ambulance corporation, as well as overseeing a Boy Scout troop. All of those aside, my greatest accomplishment has been raising my three kids. They’re adults now and I’m so proud of the people they’ve become. In the little free time I have, you can find me outdoors camping, fishing, or woodworking.
