KSLTV—Doctors Testing New Liver Transplant Transport System

In this article, KSLTV of Salt Lake City reports on Intermountain Healthcare’s participation in the LifePort Liver Transporter clinical trial.

“We’re keeping that liver working in a somewhat normal, physiologic state during the time that it’s out of the donor’s body and before it goes into the recipient’s body,” Krong said.…“So, we are allowing that organ to stay working in a normal way during that whole time,” Krong said. “If this saves one more patient’s life, it is priceless.”

Intermountain Healthcare is a not-for-profit health system with a team of more than 41,000 caregivers based in Salt Lake City, Utah who serve the healthcare needs of people across Utah, Idaho, and Nevada.
